Turning a tech giant into a viral factory powerhouse.

During my time working with Samsung, they were a challenger to the established brands - with less budgets and less brand awareness the strategy was to use new platforms to create stand out moments.

One of those key platforms was YouTube - where I was part of the team to deliver viral stand out moments that out performed the big media buys.

These are a few of those key moments that helped generate buzz around Samsung.

Extreme Sheepherding. AKA LED Sheep.

To support the launch of a new range of Samsung FPTVs that use LEDs, The Viral Factory and my team was tasked with making a film that showed the wonder of LED technology. Shot in Wales, with a cast of local shepherds, their sheepdogs and flocks, the film features 300 sheep wearing LED coats, being herded into a series of ever more improbable shapes and pictures. After launch the film had 6.5 million views in three weeks and has now been viewed over 20 million times. The film achieved a five-star rating, and received widespread international coverage by media such as the BBC News, Sky News and The New York Times.

It has gone on into internet legend, with debates around it’s creation, its history and more. Even with a dedicated Hoax Page
