A final illustration from the weekend. Thought that it was about time Buzzman went intergalactic. Had the Beastie boy track on loop in the background and so it sort of fell into place.
Buzzman - Playing hard.
I decided to kick back with some of my favourite albums and have a go drawing using what limited tools I have here in Paris. No scanner, scraps of paper and a trackpad to colour but I enjoyed the process of bringing to life this character. I might go back and correct some things once get more set up here in Paris or try and evolve it in a new direction.
Still the most important thing was that I got to listen to At the Drive In and Death From Above while doodling. Which is double plus good.
The Prime Minister in his pants
Illustrations for a children’s book by me. Done a while back now but I still enjoy going over old work and seeing how my style has evolved.
The first rule of social, be social.
I thought I’d make a poster and seeing as I’m surrounded by Buzzman’s mascot all day I thought I’d make a poster featuring Mr Buzzman himself. It isn’t actually for anything other than a nice bit of visual stimulus for me to play around with. Even though most of my work is conceptual thinking I still like to try and learn new tricks and skills on the Mac.
So basically I made a poster at work, about work but it isn’t for work.
Illustration I did of my friend Chelsie back in 2010.
I originally began my training as an illustrator before I started working in advertising. For me it helped a lot as the core skills of illustration are about condensing stories into images. Story telling is a powerful tool in advertising.

I have a secret that most Parisians just wouldn’t understand but I don’t actually drink coffee. Or have any idea about coffee. Ssh. Our Secret right?
Sky Nash’s guide to coffee

I tried to explain to a friend in one text about the types of coffee you can get, it was impossible and the only solution I could think of was drawing it.
Also available to buy as a print.
